Budgetary Clowns
Mike Henning made an blog entry on FreedomTorch, which is elegant in its simplicity:
• U.S. Tax revenue: $2,170,000,000,000
• Fed budget: $3,820,000,000,000
• New debt: $ 1,650,000,000,000
• National debt: $14,271,000,000,000
• Recent budget cut: $ 38,500,000,000Now let’s remove 8 zeros and pretend it’s a household budget.
• Annual family income: $21,700
• Money the family spent: $38,200
• New debt on the credit card: $16,500
• Outstanding balance on the credit card: $142,710
• Total budget cuts: $385
This is clownish tomfoolery. Should we laugh, or cry? Shoot ourselves, or shoot them? If you have the slightest inclination to vote for an incumbent next year, you are part of the problem in this circus. â—„Daveâ–º
Great post. I wonder where it originally came from? This is the most credible source I could find. You see anything older?

No, you probably found it. I don’t think Mike was claiming it as his own; but I just wanted to make sure nobody thought I was either. 🙂 â—„Daveâ–º
