What appears to be a “Black” oriented website, “Essence,” has an excellent interview of Alan Keyes regarding why he has filed the lawsuit challenging Obama’s status as a Natural Born Citizen. He gives a very articulate justification, and one point was profound:

ESSENCE.COM: For argument’s sake, let’s say Obama is only a naturalized citizen, and was raised by Americans and grew up in the United States. What difference does that make to you?

KEYES: It makes a difference to the Constitution. The Constitution has to be obeyed. If we get into a position where it is somehow regarded as dispensable then this country will fall apart. Black people should be the first folks to remember that. Without adherence to the Constitution our battles would have never been won. I don’t want to live in a country where we are suddenly back in a world where the force of majority rules. I don’t think any of us do.

The MSM, who have studiously avoided this subject and the dozen or so current lawsuits working their way to the Supreme Court, should think about that – seriously. So should all the folks who will riot if this ends up costing Obama the job he worked so hard to get. â—„Daveâ–º

At first, I gave this story no credibility whatever. However, given the continued charges against Obama’s citizenship, and, Mr O’s refusal to prove it wrong, I begin to wonder. This has to be one of the more easily dismissed of all political legends, and can be done without invasion of anyone’s rights to privacy. Indeed, given the number of times I have had to furnish a certified copy of my birth certificate to meet various government requirements, I am astounded that one can run for federal office without already having done this.

What bothers me most of all here is that this is just another bit of evidence that we have allowed creation of a “ruling class” who play by different rules than we the subjects.

  • Agreed. That is what held my interest for so long in this story.

Re: the ruling class… I note the report that Obama will not be subjecting his children to D.C. public schools, but he is dead set against vouchers that would permit less regal parents the same option. â—„Daveâ–º
