First, I would like to point out my “Cultural Bigotry” essay, which I wrote a few months back, before I ever heard of the “Alt-Right.” Since Hillary’s speech introducing the term to the rest of us, much is being made of the alleged ‘racist’ or ‘white supremacist’ nature of some of those associated with it. The research I have been doing, has revealed that multicultural challenges, are seen as much more important than race to these young folks. For one thing, they are actually intelligent enough to understand that terms like ‘Muslim’ or ‘Mexican,’ do not refer to the race of those they label.  However, here is a short discussion of the diversity within the movement, by one of its founders:

Certainly not PC; but I find his positions reasonable, and certainly worthy of open discussion in the marketplace of ideas. I also note his push back, regarding whether either Breitbart or Trump, could properly be considered members of their so-called movement.

Doug McKelway of Fox News had an informative piece on the subject the other day, “‘Alt right’ conservative movement embraces the Trump campaign“:

But the alt right movement is marked by a diversity not so easily categorized. Among its members — Jared Taylor, editor of  the non-profit American Renaissance. Asked if he is a white supremacist, as many critics contend, Taylor told Fox News, “Absolutely not. I don’t even know what that term means.”

He described what drives his long-held beliefs and his new association with the alt right. “The idea that America is just a nation up for grabs, that whoever can get here owns the place. No. We think that the United States has an identity and that the people who are extended from the founding stock have a right to resist dispossession.”

As a native born Jacksonian myself, I can certainly identify with that point of view, and plenty of Black Americans do too.

Also identifying with the alt right — Breitbart columnist Milo Yiannopolis. A flamboyant, openly gay conservative, he is embarked on what he describes as his intentionally offensive “Dangerous Faggot Tour” of college campuses.

In a recent interview, Yiannapolis described his mission. “If people rise up now and say this social justice thing, this language policing, this political correctness, safe space, trigger warnings, micro aggressions, this stuff is horseshit … and if enough people smash its stranglehold on the public square, it will never recover.”

Interestingly, I have encountered discussions among Alt-Right proponents, who object to Milo’s claim to be part of their movement. If it expands to the point where I could embrace the label, Milo would certainly be welcome on my team. Where else does he fit? Flaming gay provocateur conservatives, are not very welcome on the radical Left, or the traditional Right. In any case, it is not hard to understand the Alt-Right affinity with Trump’s positions on immigration, war, and the police vs. BLM thugs.

I have certainly never thought of famous poker player, accomplished businessman, and Libertarian Party activist, Wayne Allyn Root as a racist. Yet, he has written a new book entitled, “Angry White Male,” which is discussed in the American Thinker, “Proof That Angry White Males Have Every Right to be Angry“:

Is it any wonder I’m an Angry White Male?

It is a national disgrace and disaster. But one thing it’s not is a coincidence, bad luck, or bad timing. This is all part of a plan targeting the predominantly white middle class. Liberals claim it is about social justice. In truth, it is about filling the country with foreigners who are dependent on welfare from big government, and therefore can always be counted on to reliably vote Democrat for higher taxes, bigger welfare checks, and even bigger government.

It’s all part of a plan to create a vicious cycle. Government taxes and regulations make it difficult to survive. Government makes it difficult to run a business. Government makes us poorer. Government makes us dependent. All of this means we don’t have money to make political contributions anymore. I’ve personally cut my contributions to GOP candidates dramatically. But we all know that in politics, money is power, money is victory. Then to double the pain, government purposely keeps the border wide open to invite in foreigners who want bigger government and more welfare from cradle to grave. Government also makes it easier for them to vote without ID. Then both legal and many illegal immigrants exercise this massive conflict of interest by voting reliably for more welfare checks and higher taxes. All at the expense of the dying middle class.

To write this, to report this, isn’t racism. This is simply the truth about what is happening to America and the predominantly white middle class. It doesn’t make any group “bad.” It’s not an attack on Hispanics. It’s not an attack on foreigners. I’m simply reporting the facts. This is happening. This is a purposeful plan. I don’t even blame the people who are accepting this welfare. They are just accepting what is being offered. The blame goes to pathetic, guilt-ridden white liberals and their cronies in the liberal media, big business, and political establishment.

Their goal is to fundamentally change America by overwhelming the system and changing the ethnic demographics of the electorate away from the predominantly white middle class. And it’s working.

This is no mirage. This isn’t guesswork. It’s not my opinion. It’s real, it’s happening. It’s the reason for the angry white male phenomenon. And it’s the very foundation of the Donald Trump phenomenon. Trump leaped past the deepest GOP field in history—sixteen governors, senators, and superstar politicians—based on a promise to build a wall, secure the border, and enforce immigration laws.

Now you understand why Trump won the GOP nomination. Now you understand why angry white males (and many others) are angry. We have every right to be. The cannons are being aimed right at us. It’s time to fight back in self-defense.

P.S. Long term, even more dangerous than the primarily Hispanic illegals coming to collect free things is the government-endorsed and -aided policy of flooding America with Muslim immigrants, legal and illegal. Unlike other immigrant groups, relatively few Muslims have indicated any interest in accepting American values and assimilating themselves into the great American melting pot. As demonstrated throughout Europe, this is a group focused on establishing separate communities with their own laws and values, biding their time until they can impose their values on the rest of us. It even has a name. Spreading Islam through colonization is a “jihad” (the religious duty of Muslims to maintain and spread their religion). America is being invaded, not by military force, but by the policies of the radical left. Their goal is to fill this nation with foreigners who have no understanding or interest in American exceptionalism, American values, culture, freedom, or personal responsibility. They want white males to become foreigners in our own land.

He too, has entirely valid arguments, which deserve to be discussed openly in our marketplace of ideas, without being dismissed as ‘hate speech,’ by intolerant and hateful sheeple, incapable of critical thought. 🙁 â—„Daveâ–º

  • We are indeed watching history in the making.

Trump may not look alt-right but if you talked to him one on one I bet he is. This is an absolute nightmare for both Republicans and Democrats.

The “wrecking ball” pushed this forward at quantum speed. Without him alt-right would literally still be mostly unknown. 😉

As far as anything Hillary Clinton says … LIES!
The woman has a lot to fear. The Karmic Bitch has finally caught up to her and NO ONE EVER BEATS HER in the end.

It should be fun to watch.

Great point, CT; and they are sure giving my thinking cap a workout! Have you seen this?:

Good stuff… and well worth my time to absorb and contemplate it. 😀 â—„Daveâ–º

      • Yes I did Dave … Stephan has good stuff all of the time. I try to watch is when I can and do for sure when a topic really rings a bell.

As far as these young movers and shakers go someone told me about 20 years ago that this young generation would bounce into society and save our butts. That was before they were born or we knew them as Millennials. I did a “yea right” … dismissed him as a wingnut and forgot about it. Now I am beginning to watch with renewed interest and hope.

        THANK YOU!

        Donald Trump

  • Somewhat surprising to me, this topic has not attracted much attention here. I continue to explore it nevertheless. For those at all interested, one of the best thoughtful in-depth discussions of the movement I have encountered, was published last March at Breitbart: “An Establishment Conservative’s Guide To The Alt-Right.” Before accepting the definition of one of their strident, #NeverTrump type, detractors from the GOPe, and dismissing them as just a bunch of racist nuts, I would highly recommend reading it:

To young people and the politically disengaged, debate in the public square today appears topsy-turvy. The regressive Left loudly insists that it stands for equality and racial justice while praising acts of racial violence and forcing white people to sit at the back of the bus (or, more accurately, the back of the campus — or in another campus altogether). It defends absurd feminist positions with no basis in fact and ridicules and demeans people on the basis of their skin colour, sexual orientation and gender.

Meanwhile, the alt-right openly crack jokes about the Holocaust, loudly — albeit almost entirely satirically — expresses its horror at “race-mixing,” and denounces the “degeneracy” of homosexuals… while inviting Jewish gays and mixed-race Breitbart reporters to their secret dinner parties. What gives?

If you’re this far down the article, you’ll know some of the answers already. For the meme brigade, it’s just about having fun. They have no real problem with race-mixing, homosexuality, or even diverse societies: it’s just fun to watch the mayhem and outrage that erupts when those secular shibboleths are openly mocked. These younger mischief-makers instinctively understand who the authoritarians are and why and how to poke fun at them.

The intellectuals are animated by a similar thrill: after being taken for granted for centuries, they’re the ones who get to pick apart some of the Enlightenment’s dead dogmas. The 1488ers just hate everyone; fortunately they keep mostly to themselves.

The really interesting members of the alt-right though, and the most numerous, are the natural conservatives. They are perhaps psychologically inclined to be unsettled by threats to western culture from mass immigration and maybe by non-straight relationships. Yet, unlike the 1488ers, the presence of such doesn’t send them into fits of rage. They want to build their homogeneous communities, sure — but they don’t want to commit any pogroms along the way. Indeed, they would prefer non-violent solutions.

    Enjoy and learn… 😉 â—„Daveâ–º

I am not that surprised Dave.
I wonder if Trump is just so hated ALL WANT HIM TO FAIL?

A little self destructive but hey different strokes for different folks.

That just means those who hope for a brighter future have to persist, outnumber and overcome … LOL

It will be interesting to see who has the most stamina and determination right? 😉

  • But so far, no one has really been able to explain the movement’s appeal and reach without desperate caveats and virtue-signalling to readers.

Do you suppose it is because someone poisoned the water and common sense simply vanished?

NAH … fear of “control loss” is more reasonable … lol

    Ya gotta love it! 😉

    • I think the point of that quote, CT, was that normative conservatives are so afraid of being labeled racists by the Left, that they can’t even discuss the existence of the Alt-Right, without roundly condemning it.

The point I made in my own above referenced essay, applies here. Race itself has little to do with cultural conflicts, and the fact that America’s traditional culture was an outgrowth of the European Renaissance, is nothing whatever to be ashamed of. Neither is the perfectly natural desire to perpetuate it, in the face of the Left’s multicultural utopian fantasies. â—„Daveâ–º

  • that normative conservatives are so afraid of being labeled racists by the Left,

My point is that “normative conservatives” better grow a spine and quit fearing what any half witted leftist thinks or worse stupidly says.

I agree race has nothing to do with any of this. 😉
