After Saturday’s debate, a “Quick poll shows decline for Rubio.” Perhaps it is biased for Kaich:

The poll, conducted by the pro-John Kasich New Day for America Super PAC, shows Rubio plummeting to fourth place in the primary here, with 10 percent of the vote. Most of the polling conducted in the immediate days before the debate showed Rubio in second place.

…but isn’t that what one would expect after Christie’s whooping? The interesting thing to me, is that it shows Cruz has fallen even further:

Donald Trump holds a wide lead in the survey, receiving 35 percent. He more than doubles runner-up Kasich, who has 15 percent. In third is Jeb Bush, with 13 percent. Behind Rubio in fifth and sixth place, respectively, are Christie and Ted Cruz. Both receive 8 percent.

Sixth place and if anything, Trump has gained a couple of points! He now more than quadruples Cruz. If Tuesday’s election results are anything like these percentages, South Carolina is going to be a whole new ball game. 🙂 â—„Daveâ–º

NH is a very odd place. I spend a lot of time there for work. I do know they should be stripped of their “Live free or die” state motto. Of any state you have to be most careful of polling it’s NH. There are very dense ethnic pockets in the state that polling may not be able to account for. Can’t forget them mountain folk up there. Oops them darn Evangelicals are all over the place. My line of work affords me a lot of insight into demographics within my territory.

As far as Rubio goes Christie yelled the emperor has no cloths and Rubio couldn’t even find a sheet to cover up with. What I can’t explain is the Kasich 2nd place position. It has to pretty much be that he has a limited core support of party line voters that won’t change and Trump is just sucking up the air from everybody else.

I don’t doubt Trump will win NH. The positioning in the runners up will be the story. Look for Cruz to surprise AGAIN. He won’t be coming in 6th.

    • What I can’t explain is the Kasich 2nd place position.

He has been living there for months. He has done over 100 town-halls now, and has an understated, positive, aw shucks, style that probably plays well there, for those moderates not as fed up with they system as Trump supporters.

Cruz may well surprise us; but if he doesn’t finish in the top 2 or 3, it is very bad news for him. 😉 â—„Daveâ–º

When I look to polls I tend to go here figuring a cumulative average of many should be less prone to errors. This tells a different story. Pay attention to the very end of the second chart below the fold. LOL I actually hate polls but you brought it up.

    • Yes, I check the RCP averages myself. I presume you are aware that that bottom poll on the second chart is almost 4-years-old! Trump has been on top by good margins since last July. 😉 â—„Daveâ–º

The establishment nominated Jeb months ago and nothing is going to change their minds.

As for Marco, he is phony as a $3 bill.

Trump is doing everything he can to do it.

    • What’s up with the quickie drive-by comments, Troy? Engage, man! 🙂 â—„Daveâ–º

Sorry, have not really been on my best game lately. We are having the kind of weather that drives the old and arthritic loony with pain and/or drugged in an attempt at self defense.

Another possible explanation is that this election BS just fails to grab me where it gets interesting. Said in a less elegant way, like Captain Butler, I don’t give a damn. Why? Because my giving (or withholding) a damn makes absolutely no difference. For example: It is now V(ote) Day in New Hampshire. By the time the polls there close, we will have learned… absolutely nothing that we did no know the day before.

I am supposed to get excited about that?

        Troy

        • Sorry to hear about the pain. Do take care of yourself, and give my sympathy to J9.

Oh, I will learn something tonight. I get to learn if Chris has a grin on his face – or a frown. That may not be exciting; but one of us will enjoy it, while the other tries to rationalize it. I just hope it is my turn to grin. At my age, I’ll take whatever small pleasures I can acquire. 😉 â—„Daveâ–º

Your interest in my contentment or lack there of is most humbling and undeserved. 😀

          • See, Troy? Make a sport out of it. If you have no interest in the outcome otherwise, try to enjoy the tailgate party Chris and I are hosting… and the after game celebration I plan to be hosting. 😀 â—„Daveâ–º

Pass the wings and grab yourself a beer Troy. This party is gonna go on for at least a month.

A little FYI Cruz is knocking down endorsements in NH from all of Rand Pauls supporters including senator Avard who was Pauls state chairman. Paul was polling with around 5% of the NH vote. How that translates remains to be seen.

  • Has anyone seen the John Stossel report on the latest Cruz technology?
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Nd_2Borlus

    Interesting!
Looks like “let me pretend to be interested in what you are interested in” because “we’re comrades dude” … so I can secure your vote.

    • Chris says:

Like Stossel said. It’s what got us Obama TWICE. To not employ it while the democrats do would be foolish and assure perpetual loses. They have said Cruz has the best “ground game” bar none. I suspect this is a big part of it. I expect it is a real resource saver. LOL that’s one nice thing about living in New York State. We don’t get the barrage of political ads, phone calls, and door knocks. Democrats don’t have to and republicans long since learned not to waste their time.

    • Very interesting, CT. Thanks for sharing. It is the modern way to round up the stray sheeple, and convince them that Cruz would be the best shepherd. 🙂 â—„Daveâ–º
