A Bunch Of Bum Steers
Excepting a very few principled congresspeople, most of them freshpersons elected with TEA Party support, our House of Representatives is full of bum steers.
In case you don’t understand those words, let me help:
“bumâ€: A lazy or shiftless person, especially one who seeks to live solely by the support of others.
“steerâ€: a male bovine animal (or congressman) castrated before sexual (or political) maturity.
I find myself increasingly unable to tolerate news programs because I am so sick and tired of being lied to by these bums and their media toadies!!!
On the other hand, I am very glad the debt ceiling fiasco seems to be in deadlock and I genuinely hope it stays that way – at least until the end of August. The longer it goes on, the more the American people get a really good look at what kind of bums represent them.
Earlier today, I heard my own congressman (Bill Flores, TX 17th district) interviewed on a radio program. Among other silly things he said, Flores said he supports the Boehner plan (not sure which of the endless versions); that allowing an increase in the debt ceiling now would allow people like him to stay on to continue the fight another day; that the worst part of not allowing an increase in the debt ceiling would be that the left-leaning media would blame it on the GOP.
I could spend pages explaining why this burned me to a crisp but will spare you the details. Suffice it to say that the media will blame the GOP no matter what happens, even if they have to make something up. As for fighting on another day – what will be different when that day comes, other than the national debt being even higher. Of course the worst of all is that the Boehner plan (no matter which iteration), is a fraud. It exchanges REAL increases in our debt for imaginary spending cuts. Its centerpiece is a balanced budget amendment to our Constitution. Let me see… would that be the same Constitution that already requires congress to have an annual budget? The same one that requires a president to be a Natural Born Citizen? The same one that outlaws unreasonable searches and seizures? Yes, it is the same one. Evidently, adding amendments to a document everybody ignores is just the fix we need.
The GOP has ALL of the power right now. And, they can use that power to simply say NO. No more debt. Period. They should look Obama straight in the eye and stare him down – let him blink first. Instead, we have John Boehner not just blinking but outright fluttering as he and his sidekicks jump through their own butt holes trying to find some way to save Obama’s career by allowing more borrowing and more spending while trying to appear not to.
Boehner (or anyone else who has long been part of the problem) should never be allowed in the GOP leadership. They had their turn early in the decade and they blew it. Now it is time for him to be removed as speaker and to turn the job over to one of the new people who is at least willing to act as though they are not yet castrated.
