Those paying attention to Trump’s rather sober victory speech last night, probably noticed how sharply he made the point about the system being rigged for politicians of both wings of the Incumbrepublocrat duopoly. I sure did:

Just remember this: I’m going to be your champion. I’m going to be America’s champion because you see this election isn’t about Republican or Democrat; it’s about who runs this country – the special interests or the people and I mean the American people.

Every election year politicians promise change. Obama promised change and it didn’t work out too well. And every year they fail to deliver. Why would politicians want to change a system that’s totally rigged in order to keep them in power? That’s what they’re doing, folks. Why would politicians want to change a system that’s made them and their friends very, very wealthy? I beat a rigged system by winning with overwhelming support, the only way you could’ve done it – landslides all over the country with every demographic on track to win; 37 primary caucus victories in a field that began with 17 very talented people.

After years of disappointment, there is one thing we all have learned – we can’t fix the rigged system by relying on very, and I mean this so, so strongly, on the very people who rigged it, and they rigged it, and do not ever think anything differently. We can’t solve our problems by counting on the politicians who created our problems.

The Clintons have turned the politics of personal enrichment into an art form for themselves. They’ve made hundreds of millions of dollars selling access, selling favors, selling government contracts, and I mean hundreds of millions of dollars. Secretary Clinton even did all of the work on a totally illegal private server. Something about how she’s getting away with this folks nobody understands. [Bold emphasis mine]

The oligarchs cannot be happy about the specter of having this clumsy oaf thrashing about in their exquisite china shop; but what could they do about it now? I have to agree with Robert Ringer:

I still doubt HRC will be the Democratic nominee, but if she is, Trump will drag her tired old carcass around like an ape might do to a three-year-old kid in a zoo. The truth is that only Donald Trump can beat Donald Trump, and, strange as it may seem, he appears to be working really hard at accomplishing that feat.

But no matter how many self-destructive things Trump says, he can beat Hillary with one-arm tied behind his back — and even more easily with his tongue tied behind his back.

Then, I was caught by a curious Washington Post headline: Why it took 3 months for Donald Trump’s attack on a ‘Mexican’ judge to blow up:

Trump also injected race into attacks on Curiel back in February. He told the crowd at a rally in Arkansas that “there’s a hostility toward me by the judge — tremendous hostility — beyond belief. I believe he happens to be Spanish, which is fine. He’s Hispanic, which is fine.”

So what gives? Why is the media framing Ryan’s endorsement of Trump as something the speaker maintains after inflammatory remarks, as opposed to something he gave with full awareness of comments made before? And why is the press only now devoting its full attention to a line of attack Trump began more than three months ago?

I wasn’t particularly impressed with their answer to the question, but the data offered sure adds an interesting dimension to this story.

Wait… what if this judge flap is all psyops, and the GOPe is fixing to throw the election to Hillary, to keep the oligarch’s power structure safe? I have learned to respect Ace’s instincts:

So, Who Is the GOP Going to Install as Its Nominee Instead of Trump?

I feel that the GOP Establishment played along with Trump for what they felt was a reasonable period of pretending, but now, a Decent Interval has passed, and they can abandon Trump.

After offering his rationale for believing that the GOPe will in fact rewrite their Convention rules, to allow them to nominate someone besides Trump, he suggests:

So that’s what I take all this judge bullshit to be about — the psyops necessary to justify the party rewriting the rules and kicking Trump the hell out.

Yes, the Elite would lose the election if it does so. But they increasingly believe there is no way to avoid that.

They would be playing for the Moral Victory — the beautiful loss that makes people #feelz good about their #Principlez…

So I do think the GOP is actually gearing up to do something drastic in three weeks.

I think all the shrieking you’re seeing right now is part of the battlespace preparation to prepare for that moment.

To justify it, to defend it. To show: “We had no other choice.”

To say, “We tried working with him. You saw how hard we tried working for him! But he’s just impossible. He’s an animal, and we can’t do anything to educate him.”

Ace is still operating in the Left vs. Right paradigm, and goes into why they should choose somebody like Tom Cotton, who might be acceptable to Trump supporters. I don’t think it really makes any difference. From the perspective of the oligarchs, it only matters that the winner is controllable, and will not destroy their duopoly, which the Trump wrecking ball just might do if given a chance.

In any case, it is a very interesting theory, and if true, Trump is undoubtedly well aware of it. That just may be why he included the pointed remarks referenced above in his speech. The political drama may still be far from over this season, folks.  Let’s hide and watch. 😉 â—„Daveâ–º

  • The GOP is on thin ice with a 110 degree sun beating down. Here in the valley it was reported the voting public is ignoring many incumbents for new faces.

National had better tread softly lest they be next to crash into a raging stream they can not climb out of.

I have been told by so many they are leaving the party after election. That could be simply talk if the GOP decides to cool their jets for a while. That being said these political hacks are clearly not the sharpest tacks in the box and have no clue they have lost all control.

Trump is playing the media like a Stradivarius and none of them are catching on … I LOVE IT! 😉

  • Trump is playing them. I keep seeing them saying things like “Trump needs to answer to these allegations”. Or what? You’ll talk about him some more? I love that he’s turned conventional wisdom on its head. The Democrats have done all they can to coddle Hillary and help her across any obstacles. Trump has been surrounded by enemies, taking every battle head on and saying, “Is that all you’ve got?”

On the judge thing, I thought Pat wrote a brilliant piece on it:

    • Troy Robinson says:

That was excellent and obviously accurate. Thanks for sharing. If we could only get back to thinking our way through our problems rather than feeling our way, things would be oh so much better.

      • You are welcome and you are so right Troy.

Many years ago a behavioral teacher told us (his students) that emotion stops the critical thinking process dead in its tracks and from there all viable solutions to a problem stop.

After a certain amount of observation and lots of discipline I found that to be true.

It is amazing what one can accomplish in a crisis if one does not scream, yell and wring hands for 30 minutes first.
