PostHeaderIcon Cruz’ CFR Connection

I find this astounding… I have often wondered where Cruz’ father disappeared to. As a Christian preacher, he was quite active in promoting his son before he declared his candidacy; but has since dropped out sight completely. Then, why do we hear almost nothing about his wife? I had heard that they met while working on Bush 43’s campaign in 2000; but somehow had the impression she was a meek stay-at-home mom for his two daughters.

Not until the scandal of the so-called ‘loans’ she arranged for him not being declared, did I learn that she was actually a very highly placed banking executive. Now I learn that she is even higher in the oligarchy than that. How many of you conservative Cruz supporters were aware that she is a longtime member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR)?

Most conservatives consider this somewhat shadowy outfit to be rather nefarious. Conspiratorial musings aside, one thing is for sure. This membership-by-invitation-only organization is the epitome of a private club for the establishment oligarchy, which oversees the Incumbrepublocrat duopoly. Usually, the final Republican and Democrat candidates for POTUS are both members. They don’t care which one wins, as long as they maintain their influence over either. Needless to say, Hillary is a member.

Have you ever noticed that the same names keep cropping up, in highly placed advisory and ministerial positions, in the administrations of either Party? These influential, supposedly bipartisan, policy wonks are supplied by the CFR. Does the frequency with which so-called journalists jump in and out of government positions confuse you? Most of the influential members of the press are members too. By no means exhaustive or authoritative, Wikipedia maintains a list of “Notable Current Council Members.” Scroll through it and see how many names you recognize. 🙂

Anyway, back to Heidi Cruz. Do you remember all the controversy about ten years ago, over the plans to create a “North American Union,” consisting of the U.S., Canada, and Mexico? Texas was building an 8 lane superhighway north from the Mexican border that was intended to eventually reach Canada. Mexico was to extend it south to a west coast port.  A new currency called the “Amero,” was to replace dollars and pesos. The borders between the three countries would essentially be eliminated and wide open, similar to the E.U., etc. When made public, conservatives went ballistic.

This was a CFR sponsored project, and Heidi Cruz was a member of its task force. I just stumbled across an interesting article about it, from back in April of last year entitled, “Can You Handle the Truth? Ted & Heidi Cruz and the North American Union” (I have not followed all the internal links; but left them in to suggest sources):

Editor’s Note: Anyone who simply wants to anoint Ted Cruz as the next great conservative, without first vetting him, is part of the problem we have in this country, at least in my humble opinion. Those of us who refuse to admit that we have been fooled before are simply in denial. For the record I like Ted Cruz. I do, however, have some questions about him including his eligibility. A couple of weeks ago we ran a never before seen interview with Cruz in which he clearly stated that Heidi’s involvement with the Council on Foreign Relations was a matter of her joining as a voice of dissent. After reading the below article you can decide whether or not you believe his words. -Dean Garrison, DC Clothesline Editor

Is Ted Cruz an advocate of a North American Union?

by Dr. Eowyn

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) met his wife, Heidi (née Nelson), while working on the George W. Bush presidential campaign of 2000. Heidi Cruz is currently head of the Southwest Region in the Investment Management Division of Goldman, Sachs & Co. and previously worked in the White House for Condoleezza Rice and in New York as an investment banker for J.P. Morgan. Wikipedia lists Heidi Nelson Cruz as an  “investment banker” and a “historical member” of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).

Heidi Cruz was a member of the CFR-sponsored Independent Task Force on the Future of North America, which was launched in October 2004. The Task Force advocates a greater economic and social integration between Canada, Mexico, and the United States as a North American region.

Comprised of a group of prominent business, political and academic leaders from the U.S., Canada and Mexico, the Task Force was organized and sponsored by the Council on Foreign Relations (U.S.), the Canadian Council of Chief Executives, and the Mexican Council on Foreign Relations. It was co-chaired by former Canadian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, John Manley, former Finance Minister of Mexico, Pedro Aspe, and former Governor of Massachusetts and Assistant U.S. Attorney General William F. Weld.

Its main publication is the 70-page Task Force Report #53 entitled, Building a North American Community (May 2005). Heidi Cruz is listed as a member of the Task Force (page 9 of the report in PDF) and described as “an energy investment banker with Merrill Lynch in Houston, Texas” who “served in the Bush White House under Dr. Condoleezza Rice as the Economic Director for the Western Hemisphere at the National Security Council, as the Director of the Latin America Office at the U.S. Treasury Department, and as Special Assistant to Ambassador Robert B. Zoellick, U.S. Trade Representative.”

Please note that the report is ten-years-old, and already she had an enviable resume of corporate positions and government service. She was with J.P. Morgan, and then Merrill Lynch, even before Goldman, Sachs. This young lady sure got around. BTW, her name has obviously been edited out of the Wiki list I referenced above, sometime during the past eight months, which is not at all surprising since her husband is posturing as a staunch conservative ‘outsider.’

Right… As if a sitting Senator could somehow be considered such, this high powered couple of Washington DC insiders, are anything but what I would consider conservative outsiders. How about you?

One final thought. Had the oligarchs managed to pull off the North American Union deal, who better to run for its leadership, than a simultaneous Canadian and American citizen with a Hispanic surname, who likely is also technically a citizen of Cuba. Talk about a trifecta. Perhaps that is why he waited until 2014 to finally renounce his Canadian citizenship. 🙂 â—„Daveâ–º

Came up for me back in March. Question for me is where are you going to find a candidate that isn’t connected? https://youtu.be/FiFKtC6a9do

    • Very interesting, Chris. Thanks for the link. He is pretty good at dodging questions and turning them into attacks on his opponents.

To answer your question, it is one thing to be connected. Trump certainly is, and sells his experience at manipulating the system as an asset, while financing his own campaign. It is quite another thing to pretend that your are not an insider, when you certainly are; and have probably already sold your soul for campaign cash.

I still suspect that if their ties to the CFR and the North American Union project were well known among conservatives, he wouldn’t be nearly as high in the polls as he is. I wonder why his opponents aren’t mentioning it? Perhaps as you suggest, they are all members. 😉 â—„Daveâ–º

  • Chris says:

You have to get past the smarmy little turd that asked the question. Good question but he shouldn’t have mugged for what he thinks are his audience.

    • I imagine that at the time he filmed it, it was only for his local viewers in Texas. I thought in the more recent setup before it began, he was playing it straight and reasonable. â—„Daveâ–º

      • I also found revealing his comment that until the cameras were rolling he spoke like a normal guy; but went into his scripted debate mode when they were. This comports with other reports about how his canned stump speeches never varied one iota, as if reciting a memorized part in a play. â—„Daveâ–º

Thanks for the info. I have detested Cruz since the first time I heard and saw him interviewed. He was incredibly arrogant and represented to me all that I detest in politicians. I think he is not qualified to even run but if he were, this info should take him down. Hope it makes the MSM.

    • One would think so, Larry. It is revealing how often the word ‘arrogant’ comes up in unflattering critiques of his persona. Truth be told, it probably busts his balls that his wife was invited to join the exclusive club, and he wasn’t. 😉 â—„Daveâ–º

I’m amused at how often I do hear the term arrogant attached to Cruz. Mostly by the people everybody loves to hate. I’m not going to argue it. Seems any political success requires it. If not Jeb Bush and the good Dr. Carson wouldn’t be sitting in the basement. What amuses me most is that those same people that say Cruz is arrogant say Trump “just tells it like it is”. Maybe something is only arrogant if people think you mean it? For Pete sake Trump makes Obama look humble and he’s been called a world class narcissist. Not looking for an argument here. It just seems that sometimes perception is more preconceived notion than objective observation.

Truth is, neither major party has any acceptable candidates. Their very membership in a major party disqualifies them from acceptability.

IMHO, the best qualified candidate is John Kasich (although I do not support him because his mannerism drives me nuts).

Also IMHO, the best qualified candidate of all is Gary Johnson although, without the under-the-table connections of a major party, he hasn’t a chance. Just like the nation no longer has a chance.

Nations, like all things organic, have a natural life-cycle. We are simply reaching the end of ours. Due to living in the “fast lane”, we have gotten there a bit faster than the norm but still the process is natural and to be expected.

Might we have another chance in a future cycle? Who knows. The Chinese seem to be on another upswing, after centuries of being down, so it evidently can happen.
