PostHeaderIcon Blacks on Trump

This is #YUGE. Howie Kurtz seemed incredulous when Trump recently boasted that ultimately blacks would love him better than Obama. Not so fast:

…those still somewhat capable of thinking for themselves just might. I now know of at least one black man who had better do so, if he knows what’s good for him. He has already switched from Hillary to Sanders. With blacks like his wife starting to publicly say the things she is saying about borders and black unemployment, how difficult would it be to switch again from Sanders to Trump? 😉

I’m confident that whoever runs on the republican side will win an epic victory. People have never been madder and the democrat bench never weaker. Even a late entry of uncle Joe or nanny Bloomberg wouldn’t save them. Given those circumstances I’m actually very surprised O’Malley hasn’t gotten more traction than he has. He at least sounds sane. Trump would probably get a far larger crossover vote than any of the others but margin means little in the end. A win is a win. Ask George W.

The closer Trump gets, the more nervous I become without being able to articulate why.

I still remember that Twilight Zone episode with the book “To Serve Man” (or Mankind — take your pick).

I wish I didn’t have to agree with you Troy. It boils down to character and I just judge him to be lacking.

    • I don’t recall that one. I will look it up. The way I see it, Trump will either make a good Caesar for our empire, or he will blow the whole thing to hell. Either is acceptable to me in the interim before our looming societal reset, and much to be preferred over the socialist offerings by the collectivist wing of the Incumbrepublocrats. â—„Daveâ–º

Also remember if Trump doesn’t win the primary he has at least said he would back the winner. Anything less would lay bare a less than noble motivation. Trump doesn’t like to look bad so I think he will honor what he said.

    • Agreed. That is more than Jeb will promise. At this point, one ought to be more afraid that Cruz might go off on a third party adventure. He has demonstrated no loyalty to the Republican Party that I have noticed, and far more personal ambition than most of his opponents. â—„Daveâ–º

My sense is that you’all are not being very objective. You are assuming that the candidates that appeal to you the most will win based on what? I don’t want it to happen but think that the Dems will blow away any of the gop contenders. Too many interest groups that matter will mobilize the vote in reaction to the blatant insults coming from the primary candidates.

Whomever wins the dem primary will have a treasure trove of material to use in the general. I am enjoying the process but am also appalled at the stupidity of the candidates. They seem to think their pronouncements will be forgotten after the primary process is complete. Hah, wishful thinking.

    • Good point, Larry. We also shouldn’t forget how adroit the Democrats are at rigging and stealing elections that matter to them. Of course, doing it again for the likes of Hillary, or even Sanders, would likely ignite a revolution this time… which sounds good to me. 🙂 â—„Daveâ–º

    • Chris says:

Yet oddly enough the whole democrat platform resides in the land of insults and division. Their success relies on appealing to the lowest available. Would it be such a stretch to see it work for a republican?

I don’t think they can beg, borrow, steal, or dig up enough corpses to pull this one off.

      • Party pooper! Larry had be encouraged and smiling. 😉 â—„Daveâ–º

      • Seriously, you are probably right. If Trump could get even 10% of the black vote, and dissident conservatives held their noses and voted for the lesser of two evils, there is just no way a Democrat could win.

Larry is right that there will be a lot, which the Dems will be able to use to try to demonize him; but besides the issues, something is very different this time. This will be the first time since Reagan that a Republican candidate had the charisma necessary to wow a yuge crowd. Sheeple like a winner, and gravitate toward a leader who excites enthusiasm in others. Alas, for most, it is far more important to be able to brag their guy won the election, than to choose the right guy for rational reasons, if he ultimately is a loser. 🙂 â—„Daveâ–º

Here’s something to tickle you. If this doesn’t result in an orange jump suit for a few I’m gonna form a posy myself. http://nypost.com/2016/01/24/hillarys-team-copied-intel-off-top-secret-server-to-email/

    • Yeah, I had already seen that. My reaction was similar: When Hillary is in jail, I might listen to arguments about the “rule of law.” Until then, can we please stifle that BS? Conventional wisdom is now that the FBI will insist on her indictment; the Justice department will decline; and the whole mess will blow up worse than Watergate. Pop the popcorn… 🙂 â—„Daveâ–º

      • Chris says:

Liberty and justice for all? I’m already melting the butter.

        • The problem is that Liberty and Justice are mutually exclusive concepts at this stage of her far too lengthy public career. She should have quit while she was ahead; but her entitlement mentality and personal greed knew no bounds. Set aside her arguably treasonous email shenanigans for the moment; this unprincipled grifter deserves to do at least as much time as Martha Stewart, for essentially the same crimes – being greedy, bending the rules, and repeatedly getting caught lying about it. â—„Daveâ–º
