postheadericon The Forgotten Man

Here is an incredible painting that is presented in a remarkable way on artist Jon McNaughton’s innovative website.

The Forgotten Man

Please do yourself a favor and visit the artist’s website for an explanation of the elements in this painting. Enable JavaScript so you can use the mouse  rollover feature to zoom in and identify each president, and read a short vignette about them. The menu items “The Collapse of the Dollar” and “What Has Obama Done” are succinct and well written too. Kudos to Jon for a masterpiece, in many more ways than one. ◄Dave►

postheadericon Same Old Stuff (Or Whatever)

One thing the recent primary elections have helped make very clear — we are plagued with a federal legislature full of people who put their own power and position far above the wants and needs of we the people. Yes, we have known that for a long time but lately, a number of them are making it so clear that even the sheeple should be able to figure it out. As examples, I offer Specter, Crist, Castle and Murkowski. And note that all these are (or were) members of the GOP, that wonderful institution that is going to save us this fall! Right!!

The other observation I offer today is that expecting the legislature to clean up the federal government is an exercise in believing fairy tales. The fact is that the federal government has become so powerful, handles so much money, and has so many ways to pervert all our systems in return for bribes, that the environment will assuredly corrupt any and all we throw into it, regardless of their honest intent before going in.

This being the case, I see only 2 possibilities for halting the damage and both are fraught with peril.

The first is a military coup. But, what will keep the military leaders from being quickly corrupted as well? And, how do we know they would not favor dictatorship rather than returning the country to constitutional rule? We got lucky once with George Washington — that was more than we had a right to expect.

The second possibility is for the States to re assume their constitutional duties and demand a return to constitutional rule — via a constitutional convention if necessary. The hazard here is that the wrong elements might gain control of the convention and use it to codify socialism in America.

Get excited over the mid-term elections if you wish and let us all hope for the best. But, let us also be realistic.

postheadericon IS OBAMA A MUSLIM

Is Barack Hussein Obama a Muslim? It seems a growing number of Americans think so. My own answer is that I really don’t know and I really don’t care either. What he claims to be (or not to be) on any given day is just so much hot air, like most everything he says in public. What matters is not what he believes, it is what he DOES.

There is overwhelming evidence that his actions have favored socialism over capitalism and that they have favored Islam over Judaism or Christianity. I will not bore you with a rehash of this evidence because, as noted above, it is overwhelming and it is open for all to see and read. If you are unaware of such evidence, then I respectfully suggest you rely too much on the so-called “main-stream media” and need to broaden your horizons.

What I do wish to address here is WHY Obama would favor these things when they are both contrary to the best interests of the nation he presumes to govern.

Might I start by observing the fact that Obama is still a relatively young man, that his ego knows no practical bounds and that his level of ambition could make both Alexander of Macedonia and Julius Caesar of Rome look like unambitious layabouts.

Next, let us consider the fact that the people of the Judeo-Christian tradition as well as the capitalists have already given Obama the best job they have to give – that of President Of The United States Of America and defacto leader of the free world.

This means that the only way Obama can continue to satisfy his ego and his ambition is to find an even better, that is to say, more powerful job, than the one he has now. Since such a job does not presently exist, then his only real choice is to try to help bring it into existence.

In the current age, the two seemingly best opportunities to create such a job are:

1. Becoming dictator of an international socialist government, an idea being worked toward by a motley collection of ex-Soviets, the worldwide communist movement and the progressive so-called “intellectuals” who want to see America put in her place (that is, in what THEY consider her place – certainly not the place patriotic Americans want her to be!).
2. Becoming caliph of the international caliphate which all practicing Muslims are obligated, by their holy books and their belief system, to work toward.

My conclusion? Obama is doing nothing more than looking toward his own advancement by supporting socialism and Islam. Once one of them gets a clear lead, that is where he will land.

Muslim? Christian? Self-aggrandizing opportunist? I vote for the latter.

postheadericon Scam Alert

My apologies for not being active here lately; but I have been rather busy with a new hobby.

I do want to give all my old friends a heads up regarding a new scam being perpetrated on unsuspecting old men. Women are often warned about protecting themselves at the mall and in parking lots, etc.; but now men need to be vigilant too while shopping at places with large parking lots like Costco, Home Depot, Lowe’s, or even Walmart.

This insidious new scam works like this:

Two good looking college aged girls will approach while you are loading your purchases in your truck. They start cleaning your windshield, while their breasts are almost falling out of skimpy T-shirts. If you thank them and offer a tip, they decline; but ask for a ride to McDonald’s. If you agree they will climb in your vehicle and on the way there, they start undressing. Then one of them starts climbing all over you while the other one steals your wallet.

It is remarkable how many girls are working this scam and naive old men are the targets of choice. Raised in more innocent times, their mothers only taught their sisters how to say, “No!” to unsolicited advances from the opposite sex. Also, it seems old men rarely report the crimes and apparently can be so “forgetful” they will even fall for it again. Indeed, I had my wallet stolen on Aug,11th, 15th, 19th, twice on the 21st, 25th, 28th, twice on the 29th, and again on the 31st. So far this month they have stolen my wallet on the 3rd, twice on the 5th, the 8th, 10th, 12th, and probably again tomorrow or Wednesday.

It is just awful these days the way heartless kids try to take advantage of us senile senior citizens. What’s more, you never get a chance to actually eat at McDonald’s and I have lost 12 pounds just running back and forth between Home Depot, Costco, Walmart, etc. Please advise all the old men you know to be on the lookout for these scam artists, and hide their driver’s license and debit card in their socks while shopping. Walmart has wallets on sale for $2.99 and sometimes the Dollar Store has them for only $.99. (The best times are just before lunch and around 4:30 P.M.) ◄Dave►

postheadericon NULLIFY NOW RALLY

Saturday, September 4, Jeannine and I attended the Fort Worth, Texas session of NULLIFY NOW, a rally planned for several cities around the country in the coming weeks.

The featured speakers were Thomas E. Woods, Jr., author of the book “Nullification – How to Resist Federal Tyranny in the 21st Century”, and Debra Medina, recent candidate for the Republican nomination for Governor of Texas. Both of these gave excellent and encouraging presentations that, for us, justified the cost of attending.

(You might remember Debra Medina as she was actually in contention for the nomination until Glenn Beck intentionally destroyed her prospects by branding her a “9/11 Truther” when what she actually said was that she had not studied the issue enough to have ANY opinion. My own guess is that she did not meet Glenn’s requirements for missionary zeal. BTW, I was once a fan of Glenn Beck, back when he seemed to be trying to help Americans understand the intended workings of their government. Sadly, as his fame and influence have grown, he has slipped into religious proselytizing, thereby making himself part of the problem.)

There were a number of additional speakers that ranged from candidates for various offices, local Tea Party activists, state legislators from both Texas and Oklahoma and Michael Boldin, founder of the Tenth Amendment Center. One of the Tea Party activists was inspiring and energizing and Michael was very interesting. However, many of the local presenters seemed to think they were at a Christian “tent meeting” rather than a political rally and I found this most distressing.

Each of you must choose for yourselves, but for me, the notion of living under a fundamentalist theocracy is every bit as frightening as the notion of living under a socialist dictatorship. I am also of the opinion that these “bible thumpers” are one of the reasons many grass-roots movements, such as the Tea Party, are written off as a bunch of rubes “clinging to their guns and god”.

At the rally in question, the worst of all, IMHO, was nationally known pastor Stephen Broden, candidate for U.S. Congressman from Texas district 30, who assured the (mostly) cheering crowd that most of our current problems stem from the teaching of Darwinism in our schools. One assumes he would prefer creationism instead. In other words, he seems to think America would be made better by teaching creation mythology, a belief system, while ignoring evolution science, a process that can actually be observed. Why not sacrifice a few virgins while we are at it?

If such thought is what we are about to empower in November, then it is time to give up all hope for the republic.
