Glenn Beck took a phone call on his radio program a few weeks ago from a despondent caller lamenting that he felt helpless since the government and media were ignoring everything Americans were doing to try to get their attention regarding our dissatisfaction with the way things were going. Glenn asked him for some time to prove that he is not alone and that we effectively surround them. Friday, he had a television special with that theme and announced the 9-12 Project as a grass-roots effort to reclaim the solidarity we all felt right after 9/11.

There is now a website called The 9-12 Project, where we can all go to discuss our grievances and collaborate with like-minded citizens. The response has been so overwhelming that it has been overloaded and down most of the time since it went live:

We can’t believe the overwhelming response we’ve received to this website. So much so, that our servers couldn’t handle everyone who wanted to come in and take a look around, leave a comment. We are working around the clock to make the site stable enough to be a daily (hourly?) destination for all of you to share in this very special project. Thanks for your patience!

Check it out. Another ad hoc website that spontaneously appeared even before the special, just from the overwhelming response of groups that were gathering to view the special together in their communities, which has promise is We Surround Them USA. It is one of those ning.com social network sites, which looks promising. I have registered on both of them. â—„Daveâ–º

    Dave, I don’t trust people who make faith one of their fundamental principles.
    Since his philosophy has a basic and fundamental flaw it will undercut his other thought. He conveniently quotes the one part of the Declaration of Independence; “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” Yet fails to make clear that mens rights were determined by his nature as specified prior to the last sentence;” When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.” Very clearly indicating man’s nature was the source of rights even though in that day that nature was believed, by many, to be derived from a mystical being.

  • Yeah, John, it is a real shame he included his principle #2; but he only asked for agreement with 7 out of 9. I made it real clear when I checked in that I could only give him 8 because I am a “godless heathen”; but I also said I would be happy to fight right beside them to get the ACLU off their backs. The response was overwhelmingly positive.

    Glenn is a recovering drug addict and alcoholic, who credits his adherence to his adopted Mormon faith with saving his very life. If that is what works for him, more power to him. As for trusting him, there are few men I would trust more. He is the one voice on TV who will throw caution to the wind and speak truth to powerful forces. He takes no prisoners regarding radical Islam, illegal immigration and border issues, environmentalists and global warming, Marxism and socialists, and arrogant or ignorant politicians from either side of the isle. I watched him tell Orin Hatch, a fellow Mormon and personal friend, that he didn’t trust him or any other politician anymore on national TV, and had the guy sputtering in dismay.

    By now, you know that I am a cynic and not devoid of the ability to spot a phony. Glenn is the real deal and he gets it. He is an avid reader and has been consuming books on early American history at a voracious rate of late. He can articulate our founding principles better than 99.9% of all Americans. He has become an Ayn Rand fan, and admits that he is becoming more libertarian every day.

    He understands the Progressive movement, what it has done to our educational system, and its ties to the environmental and racial activist agendas. He has been exposing Obama’s Marxist roots and calling him an avowed Marxist for over a year. He sees capitalism and our very way of life disintegrating before our eyes, and is desperate to awaken Americans to what is happening before it is too late.

    I really appreciate the job he is doing inspiring common folk to notice that we outnumber the fools in DC, start talking about what America is supposed to be, and return to the time after 9/11 when we were American Patriots instead of bickering partisans. I’ll overlook the Jesus stuff for now, and cheer him on in his endeavors. Nobody else is standing up against the Incumbrepublocrats, and exposing their game the way he is. Watch his TV show with an open mind for a week, and see if you don’t change your mind. â—„Daveâ–º
