The problem is that politicians tend to be alpha males and women’s minds are frequently clouded by irrelevant emotions. I don’t want crucial political decisions being made on the basis of silly females fantasizing over the wrong “stimulus package.” Politically Incorrect, you say? Try to get through this column in the NYT by Judith Warner:

The other night I dreamt of Barack Obama. He was taking a shower right when I needed to get into the bathroom to shave my legs…

…Michelle saying the most beautiful things about Barack. Each time I heard her speak about him I got tears in my eyes…

Many women — not too surprisingly — were dreaming about sex with the president…

…the case of a 62-year-old woman in North Florida, whose dream…

There was some daydreaming too, much of it a collective fantasy about the still-hot Obama marriage. “Barack and Michelle Obama look like they have sex. They look like they like having sex,” a Los Angeles woman wrote…

…one woman in Wisconsin had frequent daydreams about having the Obamas over for a glass of wine…

Good grief; women. I’ll admit I found Sarah Palin easier on the eyes than Hillary Clinton; but I am not dreaming of sleeping with any politician. â—„Daveâ–º

  • I think our male politicians should start wearing burkas. This would solve several problems:
    Women lusting after the president.
It would prevent us from having to watch all the jowls flapping in congress.
The old republican guys who can’t seem to keep their hands off each other.

Do you ever wonder why I left the old forum? You’re still an ass! But at least you have a following that appreciates it now.

  • I’m not quite sure how to take that.

  • Nancy says:

Don’t forget, Chris Matthews felt a tingling in his legs over Obama. Perhaps males should not be allowed to vote either.

    • James says:

Nacy, I must ask. Did you remember on MSNBC, how C. Mathews said in commenting about B.H.Obamas’ speech. “That was such a great speach, for a little over two hours I almost forgot he was black.” What is that? He is mr. “hardball” and some great figure in ‘interigating’ his guests. someone on Fox or any other “conservative” radio/tv show would have said that, and the perverbial lynching would be on.
Some guy once told me that within a short time that after women were given the right to vote, taxes went up 10% Oh how convienent. The ones who gave birth to us males are finally given the right to vote.
There are men out there that are ignorant or stupid/lazy about political issues and b/c we have major testostrone, we should only vote? Yea. M(s)r. Mathews is the poster dork for males who will never be a man. Appologies for the rant, a little Irish goes along way.

  • “The best mirror is an old friend.”

That is a good one; sort of a corollary to the more familiar, “Show me your friends and I will show you your future.” I liked the burkha idea too.

Ha! Perhaps I have been being too mundane for the ladies. Who would have guessed that I needed to be more provocative to attract some comments from the silent majority? I do hope they noticed that I categorized the post under humor. 🙂

Mary is actually rather rational, and if Nancy is who I suspect she is, she is too. I can’t imagine either of them fantasizing over the Obamesiah. Both were probably as disturbed by the NYT column as I was, and perhaps even embarrassed for their gender. Nancy made the better rejoinder, of course, and were I as defensive of my gender as modern women seem to be of theirs, Matthews would be a serious embarrassment to me. Fortunately, men don’t think in such terms; but perhaps that is because we don’t feel oppressed.

Mary has always had a complaint with my use of sweeping generalizations. Thus, my title for this post would have had her in battle mode before she ever read it. When she did, the fact that I didn’t use qualifiers such as “some” or even “most” women, would have offended her; because she is the exception that proves the rule.

Now, ladies, thanks for your replies and don’t make me be such a jerk to elicit your comments in the future. Best to Scruffy, Mary; and best to Jim, Nancy. 🙂 â—„Daveâ–º

  • At least one sane female sees it my way:

To reiterate: 1. Liberal women need to get laid and 2. They need to progress past the pre-pubescent developmental stage emotionally. What a bunch of little girls.

So liberal women are silly-headed children with baby crushes on the American President. Well, thanks for revealing what most people already know: you’re vapid and annoying.

Also, not one word about Sarah Palin. No doubt, you have an opinion about her, a bad one, I bet. You know, she’s accomplished something on her own, she didn’t have sex with anyone to get to her position of prominence, and she’s actually done something besides sitting around kvetching over lattés about the President’s abs. You hate her because you’re an immature, prepubescent, unaccomplished little girl who lives in fantasy-land and she’s the beautiful, smart, accomplished one. Wow. It’s all so Freudian it’s boring.

Finally, the New York Times wonders why they’re losing readership. Do they really wonder? A hint: Perhaps a little more hard news and a little less mind-numbing, insulting, fan-boy writing is due.

Then again, she didn’t suggest that women not vote, did she? 🙂 â—„Daveâ–º

Just found this site! I did see a couple of scary women with scary beliefs about B.O. I am unsure when these were shown on T.V. I saw two women, at different times, one with tears streaming down her face, but both saying something like, “I won’t have to pay for gas or my mortgage anymore.”

All I could think is “What world are they in?” As a woman I was frightened by their lack of understanding. Also, when will women quit looking to men to save them?
    *
In fact, I remember asking a girlfriend why she was voting for B.O. She said she wanted change, but she didn’t really have any idea of what that change was. I told her I looked up his voting record and he was, literally, the most liberal senator, when he was present. She just wanted change! Oh yeah, she said also that she was tired of Bush. The thing is Bush wasn’t running!
    *
I am still confounded that 48% of the people still approve of B.O.! For what… being able to nurture himself by taking time off to play golf? Could those 48% be mostly women, who think he is good looking? I pray that I am wrong and that 48% is made up of folks who just don’t understand the Constitution and the financial ramifications of B.O.’s legislation.

It is said that ignorance is Bliss… but for whom?

  • Amy says:

I am of the opinion that women nor blacks should be allowed to vote.
